Job Openings

Mental Health Clinician

Job Title:  Mental Health Clinician

Primary Functions:  Provide professional and therapeutic counseling services to children and their families following standards set by the insurance companies and MWC, participate and facilitate wrap-around services.  
Tasks:
•Assist clients in adhering to treatment plans, such as setting up appointments, arranging for transportation to appointments, and providing support;
•Collaborate with case managers, physicians, and nurses to plan and coordinate treatment based on client and family needs; and also with outside agencies involved in the treatment of the client i.e.: ICC workers;
•Counsel and aid family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting the client;
•Counsel clients in individual and family sessions to assist them in dealing with mental and physical illness, poverty, unemployment, or physical abuse;
•Increase knowledge by attending weekly or bi-weekly individual supervision or group supervision, and trainings;
•Interview clients, review records, conduct assessments, and confer with other professionals to evaluate the mental or physical condition of client or patient;
•Modify treatment plans CANS on a quarterly basis;
•Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress with respect to treatment goals using EMR in a timely manner;
•Attend school based meeting as needed, coordinate with outside agencies such as DCF, DYS, or Juvenile Probation;
• Refer client, or family to community resources for housing or treatment to assist in recovery from mental or physical illness, following through to ensure service efficacy.
• Responsible for initial insurance authorizations; and re-authorizations as needed;
•Follow all the guidelines for In-Home Therapy services outlined by MBHP for CBHI services;
•Follow agency policies and procedures;

Requirements:
Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Work or related field
Active Massachusetts Driver’s License
Must have reliable transportation and be able to work some evenings and weekends

Mental Health Out-Patient

Job Title:  Mental Health Out-Patient

Primary Functions:
Out-patient services provide individual, family, couples, and group counseling to children and adults.  Services include home-based and center-based treatment. 

Tasks:
•Assist clients in adhering to treatment plans, such as setting up appointments, arranging for transportation to appointments, and providing support;
•Collaborate with case managers, physicians, and nurses to plan and coordinate treatment based on client and family needs; and also with outside agencies involved in the treatment of the client i.e.: ICC workers;
•Counsel and aid family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting the client;
•Counsel clients in individual and family sessions to assist them in dealing with mental and physical illness, poverty, unemployment, or physical abuse;

• Refer client, or family to community resources for housing or treatment to assist in recovery from mental or physical illness, following through to ensure service efficacy.

•Attend mandatory supervision and all mandatory trainings or staff meetings;
•Assist with additional duties as requested by the Executive Director and Clinical Director;

Therapeutic Mentor

Job Title:  Therapeutic Mentor

Therapeutic Mentor offers structured, one-to-one, strength based support services between a therapeutic mentor and a youth for the purpose of addressing daily living, social, and communication needs.  Therapeutic Mentoring services include supporting, coaching, and training the youth in age-appropriate behaviors, interpersonal communication, problem –solving  and conflict resolution, and relating appropriately to other children and adolescents, as well as adults, in recreational and social activities.

  • Intensive Therapeutic Mentoring which includes establishing relationships with youth and engaging them in skill building activities: (e.g. increasing impulse control, building socialization skills, delayed gratification, exploring academic pursuits and enhance self -esteem.)
  • Identify activities for each child assigned and locate appropriate activities in the community.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans utilizing the clinician’s treatment plan.
  • Document sessions per company policy using EMR to reflect goals and skills worked on during each session, and to ensure timely processing for billing and payroll purposes.
  • Follow-up on service and program inquiries.
  • Collaborate with social workers, care givers, teachers, wraparound facilitators, and school psychologists.
  • Attend wrap-around meetings, staff meetings, and in-service trainings as needed.
  • Attend monthly meeting and trainings
  • Attend bi-weekly supervisions

Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license; must be 21 or older; High School Diploma or GED with 2 years related experience; must be able to work evenings and weekends; Bachelor Degree in Psychology or related field preferred.

Therapeutic Training and Support

Job Title:  Therapeutic Training and Support

Therapeutic Training and Support (TT&S) is a service provided by a qualified paraprofessional working under the supervision of a clinician to support implementation of the clinician’s treatment plan to assist the youth and family in achieving the goals of that plan. The paraprofessional assist the clinician in implementing the therapeutic objectives of the treatment plan designed to address the youth’s mental health, behavioral and emotional needs. This service includes teaching the youth to understand, direct, interpret, manage, and control feelings and emotional responses to situations and to assist family to address the youth’s emotional and mental health needs. Phone contact and consultations are provided as part of the intervention.

  • Identify activities for each child assigned and locate appropriate activities in the community.
  • Document sessions per company policy using EMR to reflect goals and skills worked on during each session, and to ensure timely processing for billing and payroll purposes.
  • Follow-up on service and program inquiries.

Community Support Provider

Job Title:  Community Support Provider

Community Support Program (CSPs) provide an array of services delivered by a community based, mobile, multidisciplinary team of paraprofessionals. These programs provide essential services to Members with a long-standing history of a psychiatric or substance abuse disorder and to their families, or to Members who are at varying degrees of increased medical risk, or functioning in the home/community setting.

  • Assisting members in enhancing their daily living skills
  • Providing service coordination and linkage
  • Assisting with obtaining benefits, housing, and health care
  • Developing a crisis plan
  • Providing prevention and intervention

  • Fostering empowerment and recovery, including linkage to peer support and self-help groups

Substance Abuse Counselor

Job Title:  Substance Abuse Counselor
Department:  Worcester/Fitchburg

Brief description
The position of substance abuse counselor consists of assessing and treating individuals with substance abuse problems, including abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.
Primary Functions:

  • Collaborate with counselors, physicians, and nurses to plan and coordinate treatment,
  • Counsel and aid family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting the client or patient;
  • Counsel clients in individual and group sessions to assist them in dealing with substance abuse illness;
  • Educate clients and community members about substance abuse;      
  • Increase counseling knowledge by reviewing current literature, conducting research, and attending seminars, training workshops, or classes;
  • Interview clients, review records, conduct assessments, and confer with other professionals to evaluate the client;
  • Modify treatment plans according to changes in client status;
  • Monitor, evaluate, and record client progress with respect to treatment goals;
  • Refer client, or family to community resources for housing or treatment to assist in recovery, following through to ensure service efficacy.
  • Document sessions per company policy using EMR to reflect goals and skills worked on during each session, and to ensure timely processing for billing and payroll purposes.
  • Attend company meetings and complete educational requirements set by the organization. 
  • Attend supervision as requested by the assigned Supervisor. 
  • Work as part of the Substance Abuse Team.
  • Must meet the required billable average of  32 hours per week

Qualifications and requirements

  • Alcohol or Substance Abuse Certificate; Master Level Clinician, Licensed Clinician, CADC, LADC or equivalent
